Islamorada 18 | Snake Bight Edition
The Islamorada Snake Bight uses all of the same materials and construction technology that all of the Islamorada Editions use. The Snake Bight receives the same attention to detail but has 3 lockers instead of the 5 in the Legacy. It has a small shrimp/crab well instead of the 30 gallon well of the Legacy and the price reflects those differences. It is our most popular Edition with guides and anglers.

About the Snake Bight Edition
Our skiffs have 2 different hull bottoms, a 12 degree and a 2 degree deadrise. The 12 degree has significantly more deadrise or Vee in the bottom than our 2 degree hull. Everything above the chine is the same on all skiffs. The 12 degree skiff is the one preferred by most guides and anglers in Florida and most other areas where running in rough water is normal. 90% of our Florida skiffs are 12 degree bottoms. We have had many guides and anglers tell us that they have no problems reaching the shallowest tailing redfish or bonefish. Most guys tell us that when they first used their skiffs, the found themselves poling too shallow on the flat for the fish because they never had a skiff that could go that shallow.
This skiff is rated for up to a 90 HP engine but can be ordered with Performance Upgrade that is a different laminate schedule to allow up to 150 HP.
This is the preferred tournament boat and can do almost anything. It eats up rough water and the spray rails work exceedingly well. This design is the only one we have found that really works. There are three different consoles, livewells, a built crab/shrimp well and it can be rigged any way you need.
This skiff will run 42-45 with a 70 Yamaha 4 stroke depending on the load. It will also perform well with a 60 Tohatsu if the weight is kept down. With a 115 it is 60 MPH and a 150 will be in the 66-68 MPH range. The draft with a 70 Yamaha, fuel and gear is 7.75″.

This is our 2 degree skiff that is rated up to a 70 Yamaha. We stop at 70 HP not because the skiff can’t handle more HP but because the weight on the transom would be too much to allow the skiff to float level for shallow draft .and ease of poling. This skiff will float in shallower water than most of the fish we are after can swim in. Unlike some low deadrise skiffs this one can hold very well when poling in high winds. As long as you have some forward momentum this skiff will go in any direction you point it regardless of the wind direction or speed. The ideal engine is the 50 Tohatsu that will run it 37-38 mph. Like all 2 degree boats, this one is perfect for a 15″ shaft engine but only Tohatsu makes one at this point. We can go up to a 70 Yamaha if needed with a 20″ shaft.
The draft of this skiff with a 50 Tohatsu 4 stroke, fuel and gear is 4 7/8″.
