Responsibilities:
Apply gelcoat to molds using a spray gun, maintaining consistent thickness and color
Prepare molds for spraying, ensuring they are clean, free of debris, and properly sealed
Mix gelcoat materials according to set formulas, ensuring proper ratios and viscosity
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Clean and perform basic maintenance on spray guns and related equipment
Follow all safety protocols for handling hazardous materials
May assist with other tasks in the production area as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience in gelcoat application, fiberglass, or a related field (preferred)

Utilize hand tools like rollers, squeegees, and brushes to remove air bubbles and achieve smooth finishes
Inspect laminated parts for defects and ensure they meet dimensional requirements

Adhere to all safety protocols for handling materials and operating machinery
Qualifications:

The Janitorial & Boat Maintenance Technician is a dual-purpose role responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment within the manufacturing facility, as well as providing the final cosmetic cleaning and "showroom" detailing for newly manufactured boats. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the highest aesthetic standards before delivery to the customer.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Boat Detailing & Washing (Production)
Final Wash-Down: Perform thorough exterior and interior cleaning of newly assembled boats to remove fiberglass dust, footprints, and industrial residue.
Detailing: Clean and polish stainless steel hardware, glass windshields, and upholstery.
Bilge & Compartment Cleaning: Ensure all hatches, lockers, and bilge areas are free of debris, water, and manufacturing waste.
Protective Application: Apply protective coatings, waxes, or vinyl protectants as specified by the finishing standards.
Quality Check: Identify and report any gelcoat scratches, chips, or upholstery defects found during the cleaning process to the Finishing Lead.
2. Facility Janitorial Services
Floor Maintenance: Sweep and mop office areas, breakrooms, and designated production walkways. Use industrial floor scrubbers in the assembly area as needed.
Waste Management: Empty all trash and recycling bins in the office and production areas. Ensure hazardous waste (saturated rags, resin buckets) is disposed of according to safety protocols.
Sanitation: Clean and restock all restrooms and breakrooms daily.
Supply Inventory: Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and paper goods to the Parts & Inventory Technician.
Safety Compliance: Maintain a clear path of travel in all areas; ensure spills are marked and cleaned immediately to prevent slip-and-fall incidents.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for 8+ hours per day.
Ability to climb in and out of boats on trailers or cradles using ladders.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and work in tight spaces (bilges/consoles).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust and chemical odors (resin/acetone).
Qualifications
Experience: Previous detailing (auto or marine) or industrial janitorial experience is preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate.
Attention to Detail: A "sharp eye" for spots, streaks, and dust.
Reliability: Consistent attendance is mandatory to keep production moving.
Communication: Ability to read and understand safety labels (SDS) and follow verbal/written instructions.ption
