There are boats that can float ultra skinny but break your back getting to and from. Others claim to be able to reach the shallowest fish but leave you bottomed-out and outside of casting range. Then there’s the Mangrove 18. Featuring a newly redesigned hull and now available in a 5-hatch layout with a livewell big enough for a full day of snook fishing, this boat defies what was thought possible in a skiff that still only floats in 5 inches of water. Designed for long trips to places where redfish crawl with their backs out of water, the 18 Mangrove rides and tracks on the pole like a skiff with a deeper deadrise, but allows you to silently fish in spots other boats simply can’t get to. Get there faster, fish longer through the shallowest stages of the tides, and return home dry and in comfort. At Chittum, we don’t believe specialized performance requires compromise.
