The first leg of tarpon fishing’s unofficial “triple crown,” the Golden Fly Invitational kicks off the tournament season in the Florida Keys during the height of the annual migration. Held out of the legendary Lorelei Restaurant and Marina in Islamorada, this invitation-only event brings together the sport’s top anglers and guides to test their skills under fly-only rules and strict weight-class tippet standards.

Past champions include legends like Andy Mill, Rob Fordyce & dominate modern day anglers like Baker Bishop & Jared Raskob. In its 30th year, the Golden Fly is known for its storied history, competitive format, and the pursuit of the ultimate saltwater prize: a tarpon on fly. Points are awarded for weight and release, with anglers competing for honor, legacy, and a permanent place in one of fly fishing’s most respected circles.
