Andy Mill is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished fly anglers in history. He has won more invitational tarpon fly events than any other angler, including FIVE Gold Cups, SIX Golden Flies, and a Don Hawley Invitational. Mill also won the Fall Fly Invitational Bonefish Tournament and the Del Brown Permit Tournament, becoming the first of only three anglers to win a bonefish, tarpon, and permit tournament on fly. His book, “A Passion for Tarpon,” is regarded as the definitive work on fly fishing for the species and a mainstay on any serious fly-fisherman’s coffee table.
Today along with his son Nicky he is the co-host of the Millhouse Podcast, featuring in depth conversations with innovators, legends, and pioneers of the outdoors. It’s yet another legendary thread in the fabric of Andy’s life work.
We recently caught up with Nicky to get his take on the recent HOF nod, unsurprisingly he’s quite proud of his dad’s accomplishment.
“I’m incredibly proud that my dad is joining the ranks of Huff, Apte, Pallot, Hemingway, & Grey in the IGFA Hall of Fame. It’s especially rewarding to see his peers acknowledge all that he has accomplished. But beyond this recognition, his role as the greatest mentor, friend, and parent I could ever have is what truly means the most to me.” Well said Nicky!
